A few of us here, me included go to NSUH. Who are you seeing?
BAsically your first appnt. is where they go over all your records, talk to you about your history, usually involves a sonogram and get an idea of what steps to take next.
Sorry you have to be here and dealing with this. I think at NSUH you will be in good hands. Hope yoru stay is short.

The earliest apt I could get is with Dr. Scholl. The receptionist basically told me that I would be seeing all the drs at some point. I wanted to see Dr. Chu but had to wait almost 2 months for an apt! Have you had any experience with him?

Re: its official- My infertility dx
Welcome.
You are in very good hands at NSUH. It seems like they might be getting more patients but I've heard that this usually happens around this time of the year, it's as if people decide to start rying around the new year and anyone over 30 who isn't pregnant by now, it's time to see the RE. I think there are also many lurkers on this site who have read about the excellent care given there (and not so good care at a few other places) and they book appts.
I see Dr. Rosenfeld but Dr. Chu was the one on call when I went in for my IUI's and she performed both of them, back to back. What I really like about the place is that you see a DOCTOR EVERYTIME! This is not true at some other clinics.
I hope your time on this board is short.

Dr Scholl is my doctor and I him. At first I thought he was a little aloof and in the first part of your appt he will be all business as he reviews your history. BUt he warms up once he starts talking about your specific situation and now I am really comfortable with him and honestly feels that he cares about me.
Good luck. What did your OB say your diagnosis is.

Re: its official- My infertility dx
Thanks so much guys. I am gald to hear that you like Dr. Scholl. That makes me feel better. My ob just said you are considered to have infertility. Just left it like that. But you can tell she doesn't want to do the work up and stuff and probably sends all her pts out without doing much for them before hand. I guess it is better this way and let the specialist do what the appropriate steps are to find out what is doing on with us!

Re: its official- My infertility dx
Welcome! My consult with Dr. Rosenfeld at NSUH was last week. I only had to wait 5 minutes or so. The first part of the consult was with the Dr.--reveiwing my records/history. The second part involved an exam--breast/vaginal--then an internal sonogram. I was very comfortable with Dr. Rosenfeld, and liked the atmosphere of the office. I have an appt tomorrow for a sonogram. I wish you luck, and a short stay on this board!

Re: its official- My infertility dx
Welcome to the Board! I hope it is a short visit here! The nice thing is that you are now going to a RE and they will figure out why you are having some difficulty ttc. Also, I am fairly new to this board and thus far, the girls have been so wonderful providing me with information.
I don't go to NSUH. (i live in TX) But, they will probably recommend a HSG to see if you have any blockage in the tubes. They will do bloodwork to make sure your all your hormone levels are in range. You may also want them to check your thyroid levels. YOur thyroid could levels could prevent you from TTC if you are not in range. These are just a few checks they will do. I am in the process of going to a new RE and I am going to ask for a RPL panel bloodwork. This is a more thorough blood work to check for any immune issues.
I wish you tons of !
