ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer***Update with App for Android***

I posted this on the Parenting Board but there is so much traffic there that my posts always get lost in the shuffle.

Have any of you used the ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer?

If so, can you please give me some feedback. I registerd for this item and received it but I am not sure it's worth using when I could just record everything in a journal.

Please tell me why you love it, hate it or are just ehh with it!

TIA!!

***Update with app for Android***
I did a search on my phone for Baby Timer Apps and this is what I found:

Baby ESP
-It seems like it is a very similar app to the one on the iPhone.
-The website is babyesp.com

Re: ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer

If you have an iphone, I highly recommend an app called "BabyTimer" instead. It's $5 as opposed to $20 and keeps track of everything, including how long it's been since whatever the last thing was. So instead of just knowing it's been 2 hours since the last feeding, you can see that at the last feeding the baby had X amount or ate from X side. You can see how long since a poo or a pee. It also gives you averages of how many diaper changes a day, etc. Plus you can very simply export the data to access on your computer from your phone.

DH gave me his old iphone that I now use as an ipod touch (no phone service on it) but I DL'd this app and it FAR EXCEEDS the Itzbeen.

I was so excited about the Itzbeen, too! But just knowing how long it has been since the last meal or diaper isn't nearly enough for me so it's been a complete waste. The flashlight on it is handy, but you can get a flashlight way way cheaper!

That was my concern about the ITZBEEN because it is not a tracker just an alarm type of device. I want something that will track how many ounces, how many diaper changes, allow me to put whether it was pee or poop.

Unfortunately, I do not have an iPhone just an android. I'll have to see if there is an app for the android.

Thanks Sandra!

Re: ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer

I have it and Chat Icon it. After DS was born I didn't know what time it was or was day it was Chat Icon this was a huge help when I needed to now how long since his last feeding or diaper change. True it doesn't track how many, but that wasn't really a concern for me.

If you have an Android Phone you can download for free the app called "Baby Care Timer". It's pretty much an Itzbeen for your Android Phone.

Check it out: https://market.android.com/details?id=apps.babycaretimer

Really cool device/app but really is it necessary? We're becoming so dependent on technology. What ever happened to motherly instinct? I mean we all turned out ok didn't we?!? Chat Icon

Re: ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer***Update with App for Android***

Im registering for it mainly bc I expect DH to help with the baby and I don't want to have to tell him what and when if I'm trying to get some sleep.
I plan on teaching him how to work the thing!Chat Icon

Re: ITZBEEN Baby Care Timer***Update with App for Android***

we used it... and it helped out soooo much... especially when we had family over in the beginning to help out. They knew to hit the button after a diaper was changed or after the baby was fed. DH and I got a lot of use out of it.

eta: as for motherly instinct, yeah, we have it, but when you're running on 2-3 hrs of sleep you find yourself asking "when did s/he last eat??" and it's totally normal. So why not try to help yourself out by using something like this.
