iui#4 - bust
I haven't been posting much but I was in my 4th iui cycle with clomid. Just got the call of BFN. I was doing okay, I know its going to happen -we just don't know when - but it still royally su x. I have an appt. tomorrow with a new RE and I'll be talking to my current one to see what my options are for next steps. Question - I know injectibles may come up - how does that differ from clomid, how would it help, if I ovulate on my own?
This is so hard.

I also ovulate on my own.
Basically injectables will have you produce more follicles, which just means more targets. Also, it won't affect your lining or CM like the Clomid would.
I had no symptoms at all from my injectables... so that was nice too!

Re: iui#4 - bust
I am so sorry you have to go thrugh this.. I feel your disappointment in my guts.. Do you know whats causing your IF? is IVF out of the question? Most RE's recommend the IVF after 3 failed IUI's..Is there a reasson he is not shooting for that next?
I am so so sorry..

Re: iui#4 - bust
I'm sorry that it didn't work
Like maybeabmommy said, injectables produce more follicles so there are more targets.
I did 3 cycles of Clomid/IUI and then did 2 injectable/IUI cycles. The side effects really were not too bad. I think bloating was the worst side effect for me. One of the negatives to injectables is that they do require a lot more monitoring than Clomid.
However, doing a cycle of injectables can be beneficial if you eventually wind up doing IVF because your RE can see how you respond to the drugs. I am going to stim with Gonal-F which I used during my injectable cycles.

Re: iui#4 - bust
I'm sorry.
I didn't do clomid. I went straight to injectables and I had no issues at all. I felt fine the whole time and the injections were so easy.
I also ovulate on my own but I produced double the amount of follicles on the injectables.
Good luck

Re: iui#4 - bust
I'm sorry...as the others said - Injectables will increase the number of follicles created so there are more eggs released for fertilization. They also don't affect your lining and/or CM whereas repeated use of Clomid does and can actually reduce your chance of getting PG. You will need to be monitored more often to see how many follicles are growing so you don't hyperstimulate, but the side effects should be less than what you have with Clomid.
Good luck!!

Re: iui#4 - bust
I'm so sorry. I know how disappointing this is. How many follies are you getting just from the Clomid?

Re: iui#4 - bust
I'm sorry it was a BFN.
I did 4 IUIs (2 on clomid) I never did injectibles, so I'm no help there....
After my 4th one failed, I started investigating IVF. I didn't want to waste any more time w/IUIs.

Re: iui#4 - bust
oh I'm so sorry hun
injectables ar very simple, just a pain in the *** to have to go to the doc every other day, but if it results in a BFP it is more than worth it!

Re: iui#4 - bust
I'm so sorry.....I know how it feels.
I ovulate on my own also........I did 2 rounds of clomid and produced 2 mature follies each time.......and my 3rd round of IUI.....I did Injectables and had 3 matured follies.
The injectable really only allow you to release/mature more eggs than on your own or with clomid.
The injections are soooooo easy!
Hope you have success next month!
