The hat is what is throwing it for me.....but isn't he Jewish? I believe women have to cover their head in temple and I know yesterday and today there is a holiday. Not 100% sure tho?

Yes, it is a Jewish holiday. However, if she were religious enough to go to a temple that requires her head fully covered... she would not be able to wear a skirt showing her knees. This is not an orthodox Jewish look. It's just a weird look!

That's not actually correct, while it may be that orthodox women are supposed to cover their knees, MANY orthodox women wear shorter skirts and still wear a hat to temple, especially in modern orthodox congregations. And ivanka is now Jewish too, she had an orthodox conversion before she was married. So, they were prob on their way to or back from temple.
