I've been excessed :-( Does anyone know of any openings?
Does anyone in NYC have any opening for a general ed elementary teacher? I am also trained and worked in the NEST program
This stinks! My principal just told me on Monday and I'm just so upset. Im tenured, next year I will be teaching at my school for 5 years and I can't believe that I need to try to find a job now.

i was in that boat three weeks ago. i went on three interviews and landed a job just last Wednesday.
i am surprised you found out so late, you shoulve been told last monday.
did you try open market yet? i dont want to scare you, but a lot of schools have been interviewing for a month already and positions are going fast (what few there are).
how close are you to being called back? i heard that since its an election year, everyone is expecting the mayor to "save the schools" and miraculously give back money right before school starts.

Which NEST program did you work in? I know there are a few in district 25, whitestone.

i was the last one that was excessed so i will be the first one that is asked back....im REALLY hoping they get the money back!

I work in one in Brooklyn...but if you hear of any openings in a NEST program please let me know! Id work anywhere in queens, brooklyn, and maybe even manhattan
