I've been taken out of work at 36 weeks!

My Dr. said that I have protein in my urine and I have slightly elevated blood pressure...so he said "no more manhattan commute for you."

I wasn't supposed to be done for another 2 weeks!! Now I HAVE to go into the city tomorrow and get my disability paperwork from the office, have it signed and head home. My boss is gonna freak...we weren't expecting me to go out this early. BUT...I will not risk my childs life or my life over 2 weeks of pay!!

I also don't get paid for maternity leave, so this really stinks!

I'll be on the computer with you girls a lot more!

The bright side is that you don't have to commute anymore. Chat Icon Chat Icon Take it easy and relax before the baby comes.

I feel your pain. YOu are lucky you lasted this long. Try to relax and take it easy. I have been out of work since 25 1/2 weeks because of different complications and then when i thought i could got back to work part time i ended up with high blood pressure and it was back to the couch for me. Take this time for yourself. Read a good book or catch up on what ever it is you have wanted to do because time is going to fly. Best of luck and i hope you feel better.Chat Icon Chat Icon

Oooh, definitely enjoy this time off and take it easy and relax. Yours and your baby's health is much more important than your job. I'm sure your boss will understand (probably not, but, they'll just have to deal with it!!!).

OH Stef,
Its not too bad, NOW you can relax and get ready for your baby,
That commute was too hard for you, especially with this humidity lately.

Keep me posted!!

Doesnt maternity leave stink,
I get 6 weeks disability!!
I am going to take the 12 FMLA (no pay)
and then use whatever sick and vacation time I have left.

Are you going back to work? if so when?

I am going back ONLY part time, wish I didn't have to go back at all, but thats life...
