IVF ? - Procedure Schedule?
I'm not sure if this is a stupid question, and I understand that everyone's protocol is different, but I have a question about the procedure and timing within your cycle.
My consult with the RE is scheduled for later this month. Based on the tests done by my GYN and some other factors in my history (including the fact that I suffer from secondary infertility), we are postive we know what the problem is for us - we just need to avoid my tube!
So, here's my question - I am seeing the RE on what will likely be CD 11 (maybe off by a day or 2). I may be way off base here, but is it possible that we could start the IVF process as soon as I get AF in February? And assuming that were true, what are the cycle days that are most important, e.g. for taking all the drugs, and the testing, etc. What cycle days do you need to be around and available for the testing, meds, etc. And during the 2ww do you get tested and need to be available?
I know this may be ridiculous to try to figure out since I haven't even seen the RE yet, but I'm trying to plan a weekend away with my sister before she gets married and neither she nor I want to "interfere" with the possible schedule, but we have to make plans soon...does that sound crazy? It's just that I want to start IVF ASAP, but I don't want to let my sister down either (and she doesn't want to sidetrack me, but I know it means a lot to her). So, any info about the schedule would be sooo helpful (with the understanding that my protocol may not be the same as anyone elses - I'm just looking for some "in generals").

Re: IVF ? - Procedure Schedule?
If you are seeing your RE this cycle and you have had all the basic testing done, then I don't see why you wouldn't be able to start with your next AF. Now some RE's will put you on 3 weeks of birth control pills before you start stims, others don't. I was supposed to skip them, but ended up on them becuase I had cysts. Anyway, once you start the stimulation drugs you are in the office almost every other day. Then after 8-10 days you have egg retrieval and then 3-5 days after that you have transfer. During the 2ww you won't have any testing, just you beta 14 days after your egg retrieval. But it's very hard to say when your 2ww will be this far in advance. I was supposed to totally done by Christmas, but was dealyed 4 weeks due to cysts I have never had before so you never know. Good luck! You'll find a wealth of information from the ladies on here
ETA- just be prepared your RE may want a lot of different tests then what your GYN ordered so that might put you back a cycle also.

Re: IVF ? - Procedure Schedule?
Something to conisder is whether your RE has a set IVF schedule. Mine does. I had to waste a cycle just to get to the end of January.
So I begin at the end of January and won't finish the whole cycle until close to the end of March.
Your RE is going to require a lot of testing before hand as well. So I really don't think you will be able to start in February - but who knows?
