IVF with BCP?

I'm starting my first IVF cycle and for one month b/f I will be on BCP. I haven't heard of anyone else doing this. I hate the idea of waiting another month (though U think I'd be used to it by now). I feel like each day I'm getting older and older (ok I know I am, but you know what I mean). Though my RE has one of the best stats for my age group. Just curious if anyone else did this.

Yep.. I was on BCP for three weeks before I started. I think it is pretty common

I was on BCP for 10 days, but my RE said that you can be on for 2-3 weeks w/ certain protocols....It feels like an eternity when your waiting to start up but its kinda nice to have a break from doctors appointments, because once you finally start, it becomes your second home- Good Luck

I was on BCP for three weeks before starting stims.
It's to make sure your system is completely repressed before stimming - otherwise you might get one mature follicle while all the others are immature.

I wasn't supposed to go on, but when I was supposed to start they found a large cyst on my right ovary. I ended up being on them for 4 weeks to "calm" my ovaries. I don't know how I would have responded without them, but after being on them I had 38 eggs retrieved So for me I think it helped!!
