Jack's digging to China
Jack has a huge outside pen
and of late, he has dug about
4 pretty good holes. I am thinking
its just a dog thing to dig holes ?
sorry if it seems like silly Q 
he is well fed, played with
walked regualarly...... so i
dont think that is lack of that.

What kind of dog is he?
Casey (golden retriever) just likes to dig. We havent been able to break her of the habit so now she basically just digs in her designated areas  Some breeds are just prone to it.

Get a small kiddie pool and fill it with sand and lots of doggie toys. Can almost guarantee he will love it and it will stop the digging in the ground.

Bonnie loves to dig, and we were at a friends house who had a sandbox and she was having a great time in it. She would dig, then roll around in it. So cute. And she stayed off the lawn.
If we had our own house we'd get her one.

Make sure his nails are cut! I find dogs dig less when their nails are trim.
Dogs also dig when they are bored.
