Re: Jamaica- Negril or Montego Bay
I went to Montego Bay in October one year. Weather was awful, rained all the time. I found the resort to be run down and not very nice (Sandals Montego Bay).

Re: Jamaica- Negril or Montego Bay
DH and I honeymooned in Negril and we LOVED it. we went in February... the weather was divine....perfect for swimming, but not oppressively hot.
we stayed at the Sunset at the Palms resort in Negril and had an amazing time. they also have other resorts in Jamaica... one i believe in Montego Bay. Check them out: www.sunsetatthepalms.com

Negril
it's only about 1 hour and change from the airport in MB and GORGEOUS! it is on the western tip of the island, the sunsets are to die for!

Re: Jamaica- Negril or Montego Bay
I've stayed in the Montego Bay aarea and it was really nice. But to be honest, I don't thikn it maters what part of the island you stay at, what is important is the resort you choose- that's really the deciding factor. I ws there in September and it was pretty much sunny everyday, but we did have some afternoon showers that passed quickly and it rained one night for a while. No full day was a wash out. I believe that November should take you past the hurricane season so you "shold" have good weather.

Re: Jamaica- Negril or Montego Bay
Negril - if you stay at the Sandals - has the nicest, longest beach.
It depends on preference but I liked Negril when we drove through it -- we stayed at Ocho Rios which was beautiful but next time, I'm going to give Negril a try. MoBay is very close to the airport - a little too close for me - I liked Negril because it wasn't really far but not too close either. The beach is amazing -- check out the Sandals website and look at the Negril property pics - PRETTY!

Re: Jamaica- Negril or Montego Bay
Depends on the kind of vacation you want. Mo Bay is more about the club and bar scene; Negril is more laid back.

Re: Jamaica- Negril or Montego Bay
Definitely Negril. We've been 3 times. Montego is on the Bay, so the beaches are more rocky and just not as nice.
We honeymooned in Negril in Nov, and went one more time in nov and once in Dec. Perfect weather all 3 times. Oct. you can get some of the hurricane weather.

Re: Jamaica- Negril or Montego Bay
I have never been to Montego Bay but we went ot Sandals Negril and we so dissapointed. I felt like their was nothing to do and no entertainment. My DH has been to Montego Bay and he said it is a lot better.
