I went to New Mode in Plainview. It was 250. I have had it done once. The first time and 10 mths later I got a touch up. My hair is not damaged.

Re: Japanese Straightening!
Great, thanks. I got mine done 2 years ago in FLushing. I don't want to go back to them. I relaxed my roots but that only lasts for 2 months or so, so now I am tired and ready for the real thing.

Re: Japanese Straightening!
i can't help you with recommending someone in suffolk, but i go to Hayato in NYC. It's excellent and i've been doing it for 3-4 years now!

i know you're asking for suffolk, but i strongly recommend hair village in woodside. it's worth the trip, IMO. I paid $180+tips and i love it.

tia!!
The first time I wanted to do the process I had highlights, and I was told to wait and grow it out. My hair has always been dry and highlighted so I was cautious.

i have highlighted hair - the first time i did the japanese straightening was 6 months after highlighting - my hair was healiter afte rthe japanese staightening then before
the second time i had japanese striaghtening a month after i highlighted my hair - the processs took longer and was not as perfect as the first time but still felt pretty healy
i have very fine hair that is a little oily but breaks easily - i did not have much breakage either time - i notice more on how it knots

It takes about 3-4 hours depending on hair length. But it goes by pretty quick. I usually bring a book.
Hayato charges $250 but then it's cheaper when you go in for your roots to be done only. Plus they give you a card and after 6 hair treatments (i think that's the #) then the next one is free.

I've decided to go to the Hair village this week...so excited can't wait. I am so sick of my roots.

HI, I am trying to go Friday as well. I am going to call and see what's available. This will be my second time also. Not sure as of when you should wash your hair, but they will tell you. Are you going to Woodside-hair village as well?

2 days. So if you're getting it done on friday, you can wash it on sunday night.
