Japenese/Brazillian Hair Straightening

A few question:

1. Where did you go and how much did it cost? (especially for those who got it done in the city)

2. Which did you get (Brazillian or Japenese)

3. Anything I should know?

I am seriously thinking about getting it done. Since I am running in the mrning, I don't have time to dry my hair and it ends up a frizzy mess. I need my hair to be able to wash and go.

i used to get it done in Cedahurst @ Harvey's place and cannot wait to go back in June.

it used to cost $500, or was it $550? i can't remember now. but it was a lot of money! maria, the woman who did was so anal though, i loved her! i probably wouldn't go anywhere else. this time around though, i think she is dropping the price.

i only got the japanese. i heard the brazillian wasn't good.

here is what you should know. take the entire day off of work, if you work. mine took up to 6 hours and it's boring but when you are finished, you look FAB.

I have gone 3 times already for JHS(one initial and 2 touch ups). My first time was September 2006.

I went to New Mode in plainview through a LIF poster's recommendation.

I paid $250 and I have fairly long hair.


I love it and I will probably never go without it again.

I go in Brooklyn (Bay Ridge/Dyker Heights) and have been getting JHS for about five years now.

I've used this salon for the past four times I've gotten it done, and never paid more than $180 - most recently my hair was SUPER long (down to my tooshie.)

I have gotten JHS done about 8 times now

I have gone all over from people that charge $1K to people that charge $200 (I have long hair)


by first the best job is the $200 one at Top Point in Flushing

only use Tracy

and if you hair is dyed- no one is going to leave it on as long as it truley needs to be left on-

I have gone for the last 5 years to a Japanese salon in the West Village (W4th and 6th). I still go even though I am in Atlanta...that's how much I love them! I have very long, thick hair and pay the top price $330...i love it! FM if you want the name and number.

i just made my appointment for japanese in nassau county in two weeks, they are charging me 300 because i have very thick hair. I hope i go through with it, she said takes about 4-5 hours.

I'm going back to Tracy at Top Point next week. I think this will be my 4th time using her.

I paid $250 for my initial straightening, but that's because my hair was super long (they kept calling me Pocahontas ) I've since cut it, so the most they've charged me is $180.
