how is your dad doing? ive been thinking about you but not sure if I missed an update post... I hope he is doing better!

Thanks so much for asking Kristi. My dad is doing well so far. He's still in the hospital, and will probably be there until Friday. The kidney is still not fully functioning, but apparently that isn't that unusual. He may still have to go for dialysis for a week or two after he gets out. He's on a ton of medications to fight infection and rejection - they're sending him home with a shopping bag of drugs. He's feeling pretty well though, and isn't in that much pain.

Things have just been really stressful b/c, as I posted last week, my grandmother has been diagnosed with cancer. It is on her spine and on her lungs, and my mom told me yesterday that she is on a waiting list for a hospice. There are two people ahead of her. My grandmother is 99, so the goal now is to really just make her comfortable.

I am so sad about this, and feel so badly for my mother who is running around between living and working on staten island, visiting my dad in Manhattan, and visiting my grandma in brooklyn.
