Jeans that cost $$$$$
Are they really worth it? Do they fit that much better? Will they give me an ass and hips?
Just saw Kitty's reply that her jeans were from Joe's and when I looked they cost $178.
So my question is...Is there really a difference between a $40 and a $200 pair of jeans?
ETA: NOt knocking the $$$price one bit. Really want to know bc if there is really a difference I want to try some on.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
Yes. There is a huge difference in regards to quality, fit, sizing, etc...I'd try on a few pairs and decide for yourself

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I think it totally depends on your body. I have a small waist, a J-lo butt and I'm short. Pricey jeans fit me so much better than Gap or other less expensive jeans (although I do buy and wear cheaper jeans because although I have J-Los butt I do NOT have her $$$$$!)
I think people with "normal" proportions can wear any jeans and look amazing.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
that's the thing- I don't have normal proportions. I am ruler shaped (barely any curves ) with thin legs. I have to try on at least 20 pairs to find at least 2 that I LIKE -forget baout loving them.
I only shop at JC Penny's, target, old navy and gap. I will google some stores that sell them but since I don't know many name brands (of the jeans) can someone tell me what stores I can find a bunch of them in?

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I think you would love sevens! I have long thin legs and no butt at all!!!! I find that sevens fit my body the best. To me they are worth the $$$$
I wish that I could find less expensive jeans - I have a pair from aeropostale outlet that I like too and they were super cheep like $19 - I should have bought more.
edit for spelling

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
If you go to the outlet stores like Off Saks, or Nordstrom Rack both are in the old Fortunoff mall, then you can buy designer jeans for half the price. I mean they still cost more than Target or JC penny but they do fit differently. I bought two pairs of Joe's jeans from Off Saks for $70 each and they fit really nice. Especially around the back area.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I get most of my jeans at Annie Sez. It's hit or miss, but I don't have a booty or issues finding jeans. I have spent $$$ on a few pairs, but most of the jeans I get are 7's and Vigoss from Annie Sez

I am thin and petite. Believe it not I love Levis. There is an outlet in Riverhead. Big selection and the sales associates will fit you for your suited style. I also like American Rag (sold at Macys).

If you want to try on all the fits and brands, go someplace like Lord and Taylor or Nordstrom. Once you know which brands and fits work well for you, you can look more easily at places like Off 5th, Annie Sez, even 6pm.com has good deals sometimes. I have even seen some of these jeans at Marshall’s/TJ, on occasion. Luckys you can definitely find at Marshalls, I have seen 7FAM (not to be confused with the less expensive brand Se7en which is there all the time), Paige, and the occasional Joe’s there.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
It depends on your body type and the jean. I have a pair of jeans from VS that they don't make anymore and they are my favorites and they were only like $60 maybe. Whereas some of my more expensive jeans are hanging off my azz and giving my plumbers crack.
When it comes to jeans, it's more about the cut and the fit than the price.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
Kohls just started carrying Rock & Republic jeans that look really nice...
Macy's sells some designer jeans if that's closer for you. Sevens and Joes.
once you know your size you could get a pair on eBay too.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
Some people will say it is insane to spend so much money on a pair of jeans. For me yes they are expensive but so worth it for me. I have a small waist, big hips and butt and I have noticed that the Seven Jeans, Joe Jeans ect fit me much better around the areas I need them to fit right. I do however have jeans from old navy gap ect, even low rise jeans but they do not fit my right . I have tons and tons of pairs of expensive jeans for years now and jeans are one thing that will never go out of style. so to have something that fits right and last a really long time its so worth it

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I have a donk and the jeans that fit me best are $$. I like J Brand, Paige and Blank NYC. I also like the fit of some Sevens. However Gap has a few styles that fit. Stretch is a must.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I've always been afraid to spend $ on jeans but you may be right. I have trouble finding jeans too, and in the past, I had random luck with Calvin Klein or Tommy Hilfiger, if I found them at at Filene's.
I would spend $150 at Sephora without thinking abotu it, so I really should spend $ on jeans. I never own more than than 2 or 3 at a time anyway.

I never thought so and then I spent the money and they are much more comfy and fit better. The quality of denim is better.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
There's a difference for sure. Most jeans don't fit me right at all.. I'm tall with a smaller waist, big butt, hips, thighs..
I recenlty bought 2 pairs of $$$$ jeans in Bloomingdales (AG and Paige) and I only broke down and went to Bloomies after trying on every single style of jeans available in the Levis store across the street the day before and coming up with nothing.
I already own every pair of Gap jeans that will fit me (there are 3 cuts that work and right now I hate them all).

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I'm not sure where I stand on this. My child has had high end jeans, the likes of which I have never bought for myself. (I dress him better than I dress myself.) I will tell you that the knees rip equally on expensive kids jeans vs. inexpensive ones. The denim feels nicer on the high ned jeans. For me, I think that the super cheap ones look awful but mid price ranges jeans do not seem to be a lot different from the ones that are $150 and up. I think there are many choices from $75-$100 for women but at that price they are not the brands that are considered to be premium denim.
For my son I went back to OshKosh but I am now looking for something that is reinforced in the knee. OshKosh jeans lasted the same as any jeans I got at Bloomingdales and Denny's.
Sorry for that bit of input on kids jeans but my experience showed me that there is not a huge difference all in all. It's in the marketing, some of the time.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I guess it depends on the jean. I love my Paige jeans, I have a few pairs and they are not only comfy but they fit amazing and the material feels expensive. Then again, I get compliments on a pair of boyfriend jeans from the Gap wherever I go.
I peronally don't love J Brand but they don't fit me that well and my one pair sits in the bottom of my drawer.
I recommend trying on a few pairs of expensive ones and seeing how they feel!

I sell all the high end jeans in my store: True Religion, Joe Jeans, Citizens, Seven for all Mankind, Diesel. The highest I sell them for is $49. The are gently used. My favorite are joe and citizens

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I think there's definitely a difference ... but I have a mix of jeans. I have ones from Loft .. Lucky.. and then some from Seven, Citizens .. Try them out for yourself! One tip if you don't want to spend like $200 is to check out the Off Saks outlet
