Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
Posted by Kerie-is-so-very
I'm not sure where I stand on this. My child has had high end jeans, the likes of which I have never bought for myself. (I dress him better than I dress myself.) I will tell you that the knees rip equally on expensive kids jeans vs. inexpensive ones. The denim feels nicer on the high ned jeans. For me, I think that the super cheap ones look awful but mid price ranges jeans do not seem to be a lot different from the ones that are $150 and up. I think there are many choices from $75-$100 for women but at that price they are not the brands that are considered to be premium denim.
For my son I went back to OshKosh but I am now looking for something that is reinforced in the knee. OshKosh jeans lasted the same as any jeans I got at Bloomingdales and Denny's.
Sorry for that bit of input on kids jeans but my experience showed me that there is not a huge difference all in all. It's in the marketing, some of the time.
That's actually an interstign point. I guess the difference is more with fit, that the the material, and fit isn't as much of an issue with little boys.
The material issue I notice is more when stretch is involved, or really cheap junior's jean, like in a $10 store. I HATE the material on Not Your Daughter's Jeans, and they aren't cheap--it is just too much stretch, I think.

Re: Jeans that cost $$$$$
I'm probably the minority here but more of my cheap jeans fit me better than my name brand jeans! The quality of the name brand is better, but not the fit. I probably just haven't found the right ones- I feel like I've tried on every brand. I have a sevens, mavis, and rock&republic which all have an ok fit. My jeans from Kohl's are actually my favorite fit!

one of my absolute fav pairs of jeans is from kohls Lauren Conrad, woohoo!
I have had good luck with Ann Taylor jeans - i guess they'd be considered middle quality. I've honestly never owned a pair of 'high end' jeans.

Yes, they're all I wear b/c as PPs mentioned, quality and fit are better. I wear mostly Joes, but also James, True Religion, and some Rock & Republic. They're so worth it to me.
Off Saks in Tanger has a very big premium denim selection, Neiman Marcus (Last Call) has some, but not as much as Off Saks.

Funny you said lauen conrad. Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Lopez are the only jeans I wear. I have not tried top brand like 7 of man kind, rock and republic etc., but out of all stores such as jc penny, target, gap, old navy, the only jeans that look good on me are Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Lopez at Kohls.

Yes. There is a huge difference in regards to quality, fit, sizing, etc...I'd try on a few pairs and decide for yourself
Agreed!

I think it's because the designer jeans only come in one length- so they make them long enough to fit tall women- and everyone else has to have them hemmed.

And that's how they get me. Almost every high-end brand out there is long enough for me!
