Jersey Shore vacation
DH's parents want to take all of their children and grandchildren (20 people in all) to the Jersey shore this summer for a week. What are the most family friendly areas of the shore? The oldest grandchild is 11, the two youngest are my DS who will be 14 months in July and my niece who will be 16 months. So we want an area that has a fun boardwalk with rides, games, mini golf, etc for the older kids, and a nice family beach for us with the little ones. We were thinking Long Beach Island? Also, is it even possible to get two houses in the same area, to accomodate 20 people for a week in July, this close to summer? TIA for all your suggestions!

Re: Jersey Shore vacation
We went to Ocean City, New Jersey, which is just south of Atlantic City. We spent Columbus Day weekend, which turned out to be super warm. It was a really nice family place. The boardwalk has lots of stuff to do. I would go back. The only thing is, it's a dry town, so you have to bring your own alcohol if you want it.

I love LBI. There isn't a boardwalk but in the beach haven area they have shops and a small amusement park. I think you may be able to get houses near each other still but they might be $$$. We used Prudential Zack Realty to find our rental.

Wildwood, NJ. We went a couple of years ago. We found a condo rental on Craigs List that was perfect! It was a new construction 1 block from the beach. It was very clean, pretty big and the price was great! I don't have the info anymore, but I'm sure you will find many options on CL.

I agree with Wildwood! The Morey's piers attractions are fabulous there. So many rides, so clean, you could eat off the boardwalk! Such a family friendly place. If you aren't looking for "action" though, a quieter place might be better. I found the walk to the beach too FOREVER, since the sand seems to go on for miles lol. So if you were just doing that, it might get old.

Re: Jersey Shore vacation
We do LBI as well but Ocean City area. It's cheaper and so close to Beach Haven witht he shops. We have been renting a house for about 10 years with DH's family and they have been going a lot longer.

There is also a small water park there that is fun. The bracelets are for 2 hours. They have a lazy crazy river, kiddie area and 6 water slide tubes. DD was 12 y.o. last summer and still had a lot of fun. DS was 9 months last summer and enjoyed the kiddie area.
