I am honestly just happy that they let Jesse live and that he has a chance at happiness.

True
I just know how Golden Retriever usually have separation anxieties and I can't even imagine what this dog is going through.
I understand the family wanted to put the dog up for adoption - I am not arguing that point. I just feel bad for the dog too.
