Jet Blue mauled my stroller-updated
We gate checked my stroller that I use every single day and they practically destroyed it!  The right rear wheel was hanging on by a thread, the fabric was ripped  . And the only thing keeping me from getting truly upset was that I thought for sure they'd replace it, but no. They gave me a nasty loaner (that I can't even bring myself to use b/c I'm a germaphobe and who knows how many people have pooped or puked or whatever in it (it's filthy) and they're going to repair mine. Why do I not have much faith in this idea? DD is 10 mos so I don't really need my car seat adaptable anymore I guess. Anyone care to suggest a reasonable replacement for my toddler. I have a graco so I can't talk DH into something like a bugaboo so I do mean reasonable ladies.
Updated: just got off the phone with them and we can buy a new stroller up to $150 and they'll reimburse us! Yay!

How about a MetroLite?
I think you sould definately fight harder and at least have them reimburse you for the new stroller.

Fixed? Are they nuts? WHy would they even waste the time and effort? What a pain, I'm so sorry. I have the Metrolite and I love it. I'm not sure if that's what you have, but if something happened to mine, I'd just go buy another one.

We had the quattro tour deluxe but I'm sure the metrolite would be sufficient at this point. I'm not sure how it's different from the quatro in terms of features other than I know it's lighter.

Check out the baby trend - it is around 40 and it works great.
Also look on craigslist for strollers - they're are usually a bunch

I would fight tooth and nail until they replaced your stroller. IMO ruining it is unacceptable and I would fight!!! If I had to go out and get another stroller I would probably get the metrolite since it's alot like the quattro but lighter!

I'd be writing letters to Jet Blue CEO demanding a replacement and hinting that I'd be less likely to fly them again. They are trying to keep customers, it's been a rough few months for them, so I"m sure sr. mgt will see that replacing your stroller with a new one is a smarter move than losing a few customers over it. They understand the power of word of mouth marketing.

Agree with PP totally ...
Jet Blue has had lots of bad press recently. If you have time, put up a fight about this. I would NOT want an airplane company fixing my stroller. What qualifies them? If the seat is damaged in anyway, they always tell you to get another one. Same logic goes with a stroller. You should not have to put your baby in something damaged that was then fixed by someone who isn't even qualified to fix it. Ridiculous.

You also may want to hint that Shame on You or other shows like that LOVE to show companies that wrong little babies!

We figured that's how we have to handle it. We'll have to let them fix it first then tell them we're not happy with the results.

updated above. we get a new stroller Yay! Now I'm kind of secretly glad it happened. I can get a new stroller since I've been wheeling around that one for close to a year.

I am glad that they are going to give you the money to get a new one. I know when my bags have been damaged they always have to try and fix it first. You can always say you are not satisfied. Obvisously they were able to see how badly they damaged your stroller.
Now you get to have fun shopping for a new one
