Jewish girls...Question
Is it wrong that I don't want to light the candles tonight b/c of what is going on with my aunt?
I know Hanukkah is a festive holiday, and I just don't feel festive...
Or, is it better just to light them and say a prayer?

Re: Jewish girls...Question
we don't even bother lighting them- despite having like 2 or 3 menorahs- it's just us and we always forget to do it.
Don't feel bad-- do whatever feels right for you.
You can always light them to do the ritual and then just blow them out if you want to do somehting-- or just light them and don't say the prayer.

Re: Jewish girls...Question
I always say that people have to do what feels right for them.
That said, Chanukah is the celebration of a miracle, and if I were in your situation, I think that I would light the menorah, say the blessings, and concentrate really hard on g-d granting another miracle for your aunt.
In the end, you have to do what feels right to YOU.
