Jewish Moms-- Team Blue or Green
Are you doing any prep/planning for a bris? Or will family just take care of it?
Just wondering if I should have a list of places to bring in food, we have a few moyles (sp??) we can call, I assume we'll just have it at our place or something.
I guess it all depends on how many people we have-- if my MIL had her way, it would be like 100 people. I want like 20.
At least if we have a girl, with a baby naming-- there isn't the same urgency to plan and schedule.

We're , and we should be planning something but we haven't yet. Our apt is super small but I really don't want to have anyone other than immediate family...we'll see. I really need to talk to my mom about it.

I'm team and I don't think we will do any planning for it. I know my family will take care of it for me if its a I'm sure it will be a small get together of just the family at either my house or another family members. But I guess a list of places couldn't hurt if you feel like looking them up!

I was team and had a boy. I live in CT and my parents live on LI. I ended up with a c-section so I was in the hospital for a few extra days. My parents did everything for me in terms of planning the bris. We got a recommendation for a mohel from the temple in my town. It shouldn't be too hard to arrange everything afterwards.

I had a boy - he is now 6 years old. Anyway, I knew which Mohel I wanted to use so I called in advanced. He told me to call from the hospital to set up day and time. My parents did the rest though.
I strongly recommend the mohel I used by the way

Many places will cater for a bris on short notice. I personally would contact a moyel (sp?) now just to get it off your chest-but I know you can get one on short notice. When my time comes, that is probably what I will do since we will be in Florida and the family is in NY

Re: Jewish Moms-- Team Blue or Green
DH and I planned the whole thing with very little input from family. The major thing that we had our parents do was to go to the cemeteries to get the exact Hebrew names for people we needed and find other documents that had the Hebrew names. I cannot emphasize that enough because they were entirely wrong when they gave us the information from memory.
We knew we were having a boy so we were sure that we were having a bris. Even with planning ahead, there is a lot to be done last minute b/c it's tough to know exactly when it will be and you can expect a lot more people if it falls on a weekend or a secular holiday.
