JHS Retouching...can I have a little info?

I had my hair JHS at Top Point at the end of June. I don't want to go through the whole process again until the summer, and I read a post yesterday about retouching.

How long does it take? Is it just the top layers? I need more than just the roots, so I may need more than retouching.

Thanks so much - I figured it would be easier to find out here first before I call!

They only did my roots this time and it didn't take me as long. I was there for 5 hours this last time as opposed to 8 for the whole head process.

Same here. Every place I've gone to (including Top Point) has told me that they don't do touch ups on just the roots - they redo the whole thing. But it seems that other have gotten touch ups.

From what you are describing your hair is like now, I would redo the whole thing.

FSIL got the whole thing re-done twice and her hair is fried. The new salon she goes to said you are never supposed to re-do it every time. It is so bad for your hair.

What is the name of the salon she goes to and where is it? I'm interested in a place that doesn't recommend redoing the whole thing.

I need to know this too. I got mine done in May and I definitly need to do something with the roots but I've been waiting it out to see if I should get it all redone.

I have gone to about 4 or 5 different palces- and 1 person was an educated to bio ionic- they all re did the whole thing every time

I have gotten in done a total of 8 times- and my hair is not fried at all-

in fact most hair stylist don't think my hair has had anything done to it

I went to Top Point and Tracy was the one who did my process (along with another girl, but I can't remember her name...very nice and very good.)

Tracy told me that the lengths of my hair didn't need the "perm" b/c it was still relatively straight. She said she was only going to do the roots b/c she didn't want to damage my hair and that the next time I came back to the salon, then she would do the whole head again.

I get mine done at a different salon than a lot of the girls here go to for about 4 years and they always only do the new growth when I go back.

I had mine done in May/june and I'm getting only a touch up in the near future.

I want to go for some protein treatments first though.
