Job Related, am I asking too much?

I have been sporadically looking for a job for a while.

The thing is, for what I do, I make good $$$, it's not fantastic, but it's good.

I would like to get a new job, but it seems I am underqualified for what I am interested in. I redid my resume (thanks Randella!) but still haven't received any calls.

What am I doing wrong?
I am definitely not looking for an entry level job, but sometimes I feel like that's where I should be......

I have plenty of experience, I just always feel like I am missing part of a requirement for EVERY position I am interested in.

Any advice?

No advice here b/c I'm in a somewhat similar boat. Hang in there though, the right thing will come along - sometimes its all a matter of fit!

Re: Job Related, am I asking too much?

A few things:
Where are you looking for jobs? Are you registered with careerbuilder, hotjobs, etc? when submitting your resume are you faxing it, emailing it, emailing it to the corporate website???? When I apply for a job I am super interested in I stalk them. I send my resume to them in as many ways possible. I do this bc a jr HR person may be scoping her leads from monster, but the director is taking the mail in....

Are you looking for an industry specific job or like a marketing job? I ask this bc there are many industry specific job boards and search engines.

I used to do people's resumes for them in college and grad school. I am happy to review yours to see if something indeed is missing. It might be as simple as tailoring 1-3 different resumes for specific industrys or even different job posts

Re: Job Related, am I asking too much?

Thanks Nancy,
I have to make sure my resume is updated on the job boards.
I am definitely going to take your advice about sending my resume in as many ways as possible.

There is 1 company I have my eye on, so I'll bombard them.

Is it OK to apply more than once? Like, if I have already sent a resume for a position, can I send it again, but maybe mail it or fax it? Does anyone even mail resumes anymore?

Re: Job Related, am I asking too much?

For a super important job, I have, in the past, fedex'd my resume, messengered and even dropped it off in person.
