Job Related-Interview question
I have been looking for a new job, I need to leave my current position. I was just called back for a third interview from a company. The only thing is this, I have left early from my current job to go to the last 2 interviews and now they want me to come in again and that means leaving early again. I have the time. I know I want out of there, but I really cannot afford to lose my current job without another. I have off friday afternoons but that does not work for them. My Dh says just do it. I guess I am just a little nervous. Any thoughts?

Re: Job Related-Interview question
I hated looking for jobs for that very reason... I took 2 days off for one, and I didn't get that job. It ****** me off!
The sad thing is that you have no choice. If you think the job is worth it, then take the time.

Re: Job Related-Interview question
I really think that they should be considerate of your schedule-- perhaps you can meet with them before hours-- so, you get in to your office a little late-- or, do a lunchtime appt.
You can always say you have a doctor's appt and do it in the middle of te day.

Re: Job Related-Interview question
I was thinking the same thing about being a little more considerate but I guess the bottom line is if I want the job bad enough then I will do it. They are being somewhat flexible in that they are making the appointment late in the day at the end of their day but it still means I have leave my job early. I work long days. I will do it, just keep your fingers crossed for me.

Re: Job Related-Interview question
do you have any sick or personal days? being that you're planning on leaving then you should try to use those up anyway and just call out sick for the entire day. and since this is the 3rd interview maybe they'll offer it to you already! good luck!

Re: Job Related-Interview question
I am an assistant to the manager and have to schedule the interviews for candidates. I always feel bad because if someone says they can't make it and want to reschedule, my boss thinks that if they really want the job they will make every effort to be there the day we are doing the interviews. Good luck to you.

I guess they just feel you want to leave so what is the difference. I have plenty of sick and vacation time which I never use but I have in the past 2 weeks, just the timing stinks. This is the 3rd interview so I am hoping it is worth it.

Re: Job Related-Interview question
take a long lunch or just tell them you have personal business to attend. Can you come in early to make up the hours?

Re: Job Related-Interview question
Can you call out sick to take the whole day? That is what I would do at this point. Regardless of how you do it though, I do think you should go on the interview. Good luck and keep us posted

Re: Job Related-Interview question
Thanks everyone for your support. I am just going to tell my boss I have to leave early. I like what I heard so far from this new company. So I think the risk is worth it.
