Jodi Foster weds girlfriend

Another secret bash! Jodie Foster married her girlfriend Alexandra Hedison over the weekend, her rep confirms to Us Weekly.

The two-time Oscar winner, 51, and actress Hedison began dating in October 2013, but have kept mum on their relationship. They made their first public appearance together that same month at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts gala in Beverly Hills.

Foster previously had a longtime relationship with Cydney Bernard, with whom she has sons Charlie, 14, and Kit, 11. For her part, Hedison dated Ellen DeGeneres for three years. Back in January 2013, Foster officially came out as gay during an emotional speech at the Golden Globes.

"I did my coming out a thousand years ago back in the stone age, in those quaint days when a fragile young girl would open up to trusted friends and family," she told the star-studded audience while accepting the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. "Now I'm told every celebrity is expected [to share] the details of their private life with a reality show."

"Seriously, if you had been public figure from the time you were a toddler. If you had to fight for a life that felt real and honest and normal and against all odds -- then maybe you too would value privacy against everything else," she continued. "Some day in the future, people will look back and remember how beautiful it once was. I have given everything up there…that's reality show enough."

In her heartfelt speech, the star went on to thank her "soul sister for life" Bernard. (The pair split after over a decade together in 2008.) "I am so proud of our modern family," she gushed.
