Joint birthday party-gift question
So my DS is invited to his classmate's birthday party. The invite stated that it was a joint party, the boy and his little brother are having their party together @ their house.
DH insists that since it's a joint party we need to bring a present for both boys. I think we only need to bring one for the classmate. What's the standard when you're invited to a joint birthday party?

Joint birthday party-gift question
I would bring a gift for both. I would probably spend a bit less on the one I didn't know though.

Re: Joint birthday party-gift question
i am assuming the parents arent expecting you to bring a gift for the chid you dont know. (ETA: i wouldnt expect you too)
If it was a friends party where i knew both kids then i would say yes i would bring a present for both.
If i did bring something for the child i didnt know it wouldnt be anything big.

I would give a little something under $10 for the little brother just for acknowledgement.

Joint birthday party-gift question
I would only bring one for the child you know. I'm actually surprised that the mother put that on the invite. I think it's rude to expect people to get a gift for someone they don't know. We have been invited to joint bday parties in the past, and it wasn't stated on the invite, as to not make the guests feel obligated. It was only after arriving that it was obvious it was a joint party.
