Jon Gosselin to Sue "Absentee Mom" Kate for Primary Custody of 8 Kids
Ex-spouses Jon and Kate Gosselin may be headed back to court.
An attorney for Jon, 33, plans to file an emergency petition this week in Berks County, Penn., for primary physical custody of his eight children with ex-wife Kate, TMZ reports.
The reality dad's new lawyer Anthony F. List tells TMZ that Kate, 35, is "an absentee mom." List says her current stint on Dancing with the Stars prohibits her from spending "quality time" with twins Cara and Mady, 9, and sextuplets Aaden, Alexis, Collin, Hannah, Joel and Leah, 5. (Kate and DWTS partner Tony Dovolani have been rehearsing in the basement of the $1.1 million Wernersville, Penn. home she shares with her kids.)
Also on the docket: the child support situation. Currently, Jon pays Kate $22,000 a month in child support. The attorney charges that the fee is "ridiculous," and he may ask a judge to reverse the arrangement and demand that Kate pay Jon, though he declined to specify how much.
A source close to Jon tells UsMagazine.com that he "seems genuinely upset that the kids are growing up with strangers most of the time. Even when Kate's at the house, she has a nanny there to do all the work."
The source also adds that "Jon is anxious to find a place of his own close to the kids so he can have a little more stability for them," and has been house-hunting near the Wernersville house. He presently lives in a two-bedroom apartment on Manhattan's Upper West Side that rents for $5000 a month.
In February, cable network TLC reached a settlement with Gosselin in a breach-of-contract lawsuit. He remains under contract with the network, but is forbidden from making or profiting from unauthorized public appearances.
With this latest legal action, Jon "hopes this will move TLC to pay him or at least give him permission to go out and work...and be able to afford his new home." the source explains.

The guy is a douche! I am not a big fan of Kate by any means. But, as I read in an article if she goes back to being an RN the money cut would be huge & her hours would be alot longer. So I say good for her for getting fast cash.
And if she wasn't working he'd complain that she's living off his money. Dork!

They have both used their kids as cash cows and now they need to stay in the spotlight and do whatever they can to make $$$ so they can continue to live their extravagant lifestyle. These two are both idiots!

I believe 100% this statement was all that really mattered to Jon the Douche.

If he cared SO much about who was raising his children why did he move into a TWO bedroom apartment that happens to be in Manhattan? $5,000/mo can get you a nice sized place in PA where he'd have room for ALL of his kids to stay.
This is just a ploy for more money and more attention and this is the only way he can do it due to his contract with TLC.

Oh please....someone broke?
If you were SO concerned about your kids....why move hours away to the city?
I sense A LOT of jealousy here.
I still sometimes cannot believe this is the same family we "met" 5 years ago.
I have no problem with Kate, never have and good for her and going out and bringing home a ton of money to support herself and her kids. There are tons of entertainers, singers, actresses, and other professional women who travel all the time for work.....this does make them a bad or unfit mother.
Really if she milks her 15 minutes for another year or so, shell be set for life probably and can cut back on the work.

Kate is capitalizing on her 15 minutes of fame. I think if you have 8 mouths to feed I cant really blame her for going out there and working. She knows it wont last long. I agree I think its a publicity stunt by Jon.

It wasn't that long ago that I remember reading that she was upset because he was having babysitters watch the kids when he was supposed to be with them. Seems to me that Jon is trying to get in on Kate's current media attention. They both sicken me and have for a long, long time.

If he cares that much about the kids and is that concerned about money then maybe he shouldn't live hours away in a 2 bedroom apartment paying $5,000 a month. I know the article said he is house hunting but why would he even make that choice to begin with? Stay close to your family and stop worrying about partying in NYC with college girls.

I hate to say it, but I see this all the time at work. It's totally common for a parent to file for custody to try and reduce their child support payments. It's not right, but it's true.

I've never watched the show and I know a heck of a lot about their parents. And it seems like neither one is so interested in parenting these kids. I hope they have someone in their lives who loves them and is a positive role model. All their parents see from them is a fame and a means to their own personal ambitions.
