Jones Beach Fireworks
are cancelled! Just called! I'm bummed - DH and I were going to go watch from the Loop Parkway. No rain date, either. Just figured I'd share the news. Website says rain or shine but I just spoke to someone there.

I just saw on News 12.... I wonder about the city ones too??
ETA: Totally cancelled, not postponed!! No chance to see it at another time.

The Macy's fireworks will be on rain or shine because it is televised nationally and the network already blocked off time for it.

According to News12, the waves were too high for the barge to get out of NY Harbor - but my DH lifeguarded at the beach all day and they said they saw the barge going by (back in the direction of Staten Island)

To me, its weather as wind, rain and thunder is to pick up at 9pm. Not safe for fireworks and the workers operateing the boats/fireworks. I'm sure they will rechedule for the weekend or something
