Jsut a thought: I still can NOT believe she's mine..

Ever since she was born I'd look at her in amazement and wonder. She's just so pretty and fragile and unique. How can she be mine?

Now she's 17m and she's her own person. She has her likes and dislikes and she loves to explore and venture out. I rarely EVER use a stroller - she just wanders around stores while we shop and watch her.

So last night we were in our 'green' store which isn't busy. And off she goes carrying our bagged onion like its a prize. She's wavving to people and runs back to us if she gets more than an aisle away. Jim and I are walking behind her watching her just enjoy the colors and textures .. and I think..

Really, she's mine? She's not mine, I'm just in charge of caring for her. She's her own person just leaning on me to help her along her way.

Am I the only one who thinks like this?

Everytime someone (doctor, daycare) etc refers to me as "Arianna's Mom" I feel a little pride and awe. Yep I get to say she's mine cause that's the way biology works but man, she's just all her own lil buddle of joy and excitement!

Its a very conflicting emotion but a happy one.

i feel the same way ALL the time. I still can't believe DD is mine. Feels like a wonderful dream still.

I was just thinking this today, I was feeding her dinner and I just looked at her and can't believe she's really mine...I can't believe that we made her, that she's a part of us...it's a surreal dream!
