Judge rules crucial evidence is admissible in deadly Meadowbrook crash
(04/06/06) MINEOLA - A judge has ruled Thursday that crucial evidence in a deadly crash on the Meadowbrook Parkway can be used in court.
Police say Martin Heidgen's blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit when he plowed head on into a limo last July, killing 7-year-old Katie Flynn and limo driver Stanley Rabinowitz. Heidgen's attorney argued the blood test and admissions his client made should not be admissible in court. He argued that Heidgen might not have been aware of his rights at the time.
The victim’s families say they believe the judge made the right decision and say Heidgen was trying to hide behind technicalities. They say they are glad he will held accountable in court.

I totally agree.
The idiot wasn't aware of his rights because he was totally wasted and had no business AT ALL behind the wheel of a car!
I hope he rots in jail.

If someone shoots someone and kills them is the gun not admissible as evidence?
When will people understand that drunk driving is the same. That man's intoxication and his CHOICE to get into a car and drive was the WEAPON that killed those two people. It is murder.
Throw the book at him.

No $hit sherlock!!!! he wasn't aware of which way he was going either - BECAUSE HE WAS FRIGGIN PLASTERED!!!!!!
i hope he ROTS in jail for a VERY VERY long time!!!!

this story makes me sick. there is no excuse for anyone to get behind the wheel drunk. its true..how were they going to ask him anything..he did not even know he was on the wrong side of the road. They should plaster his cell with the picture of tat little girl.
