Is anyone a member? If so, is it difficult to be come a member and how has your experience been?

It is a women's charity organization. There is one in Roslyn. I am moving to that area and I was thinking of joining but I am not really sure what it is like and how much of a time commitment it is.

i think my friend volunteers once a week and has a committee once a week. i got an application but was discouraged bc it looked pretty intense.

im bumping this b/c im about to go to an introductory meeting tonight and was wondering if anyone else knows about the eperience in this organization.
i was told by my chapter president that i can keep my participation to a minimum and do things on my own schedule..it seems like a nice thing to do and a way to meet more people.
