Just a little vent
Just a background...
My first mother's day, my MIL didn't acknowledge me. In fact, my dh went out to breakfast with her without me (that's a whole other story). At breakfast, he asked her if she called me to wish me a happy mother's day (my first one) and she said...no...but she didn't call me either. 
So fast forward to the present day or yesterday...
Everyone acknowledged me for mother's day. My mom, dad, FIL, SIL, Dh and friends.
See anyone missing?
That's right...my MIL. No calls, nothing. Every year, I got her a beautiful gift and every year I got the same thing....nothing. (Just to add, I never get anything for my birthday either...not even a card) SO this year, I did nothing. After all, she's not my mother.
Last night when we got back from dinner at my parents, my dh asked me if she called me today and I . He walks into the room with the phone in his hand....yes he called her.
She tells me happy mother's day. It's like she was being forced to say it to me. If my dh didn't call her, she wouldn't have called.
But, I'm not mad....I actually find it funny that she is the ONLY one who didn't call and recognize that I'm a mom too.
I guess she has a problem sharing "her" day with anyone else.
Whatever...I had a wonderful mother's day with the people that matter the most.
I'm not going to let someone being inconsiderate let me down.

Good for you for giving her a taste of her own medicine!!
My MIL didn't call me either. I asked DH if he called her and he said "no, later." He ended up not calling her, which I don't think is right and I told him that...but whatev. like you said, she's not MY mother.
