just back from our 4 month visit....
DD is now 15 lbs 5 oz (95th%) and 25 1/2 inches (90th%). She's a big girl
This morning we rolled over twice from belly to back!!!
We also starting to make the raspberry sound with our mouth yesterday (which makes giving her antibotics alot of fun!! We both end up pink after )
and we sat up on our own for 2 seconds a few times this week!!!
She's doing soooo much now, I can't believe how fast she is growing...
so food next. The doctor suggested that if she is satisfied with her bottles to wait...she is so I'll wait. Is there any any benefit to starting foods now rather than waiting a little longer? (other than it being fun!!!)
Thanks

Re: just back from our 4 month visit....
Wow!!!! Go Hannah!
The funny thing is - Liam is almost 8 months and:
has started blowing raspberries this week (was trying REALLY hard to do them forever - since Feb I think - but couldn't get the lips to purse right!)
and is 15 lbs 4oz as of last Tuesday (and 25 inches)
Hannah is doing great!
IMO - I waited until he was 5 1/2 months old and would have waited until he was 6 but he was really into our food so I caved in.
From a diabetic standpoint, it's better to wait until 6 months if the mom is a diabetic (I had gestational Diabetes and did alot of reading up on D, which is where I learned that). Also if you wait until 6 mos, the better the chances the baby won't develop an allergic reaction to something.
IMO I think it's better to wait until 5 or 6 months.
But it's fun

Go Hannah!
At my DD's 9 month visit she was only 26.5 inches and 17.5 lbs, i have a peanut!
IMO, i would wait on solids a bit. I didn't give to DD until 6 months, didn't want to chance allergies or her having trouble digesting.
You'll have plenty of time to have fun with food

Re: just back from our 4 month visit....
I never saw a reason to wait until 6 months for solids. We started way before that a Andrew has not one allergy. I don't understand that whole wait until 6 months for solids thing. JMO!!
She is getting so big

I agree with 5ofclubs. I started James early and he's fine.
Sounds like a healthy little girl!

Re: just back from our 4 month visit....
Leah had her 4 month doc appointment yesterday. She is 14lbs, 2 oz and 25". She is in the 75th percentile for height, weight and length.
Doc also said to wait for foods until 6 months. She sleeps well during the night, so we won't worry about it too quickly.
Good luck!!

Luca is huge too. At his 4 month I think he was 16.4lbs and 25 3/4in. He also "seemed" satisfied enough with his bottles, but because he was so big and still wasn't sleeping well we started solids. He is now so happy to eat and sleeps like a champ-10-12 hours every night. Starting him on food made such a difference in his personality, it was so the right decision for us.
