Just booked tickets to Argentina
I am so excited to go to Buenos Aires again. DH is ecstatic since he hasn't seen his brothers/sister in 7 years and they haven't met our kids yet. Not looking forward to an 11 hour flight with a 4 year old and a 2 year old.

Congrats! I love Buenos Aires, my parents live there and I love going there, the city, the people, the restaurants (amazing food and cheap!), shopping etc... Make sure you eat "alfajores havana"
FM me if you have any questions!

Love Alfajores and Dulce De Leche. DH is from Argentina so we are mostly going to visit his family, but I can't wait to eat and see a Tango show. I love the ice cream in Argentina I may have to take a walk to the Jumbo everyday for some.

Yes, their ice cream is the best, for ice cream you gotta go to "chungo", "vuelta" and "freddo"! Watching a Tango show is always fun and also make sure you take the ferry (buquebus) and spend the day at Colonia in Uruguay, very cute little town and the ferry "buquebus" is very nice and comfortable.

Re: Just booked tickets to Argentina
we are actually considering going to Argentina NEXT June (2010).
my baby would be about 9 months old by then...do you think it would be ok to go there while the baby is so young?
I hope you have a great time!!!!!!

Honestly, if you are going as a tourist (as opposed to visiting family) I would probably advise against it.
It's a VERY hectic city, the sidewalks stink (for stroller purposes), the smog was a bit much at times (this was in May, 3 weeks ago )... I just think it would be hard to get around with a baby. The subway would be a disaster, cabs are cheap but a bit frantic and you'd need babyseats and stuff, I wouldn't consider driving there because of the franticness, and finding decent sidewalks to walk around on would be tough.
Even the pedestrian only streets (like Avenida Florida) would be tough with a kid because everything is moving so fast.
The do-able parts with a baby that young would probably be sitting at cafes and restaurants for hours (yum) and walking along the waterfront which is new and has nice sidewalks.. but it's small and this could get boring after 2 days.
It's funny, I wrote a few months ago that we were debating between Argentina and Italy for this trip, I asked if I should wait until we have a baby for Italy, if that's doable and you gave me some great advice about it and told me most cities WERE baby friendly
