Just Curious????? (waking baby up)
Do you wake your baby up for company. Obviously not regular company, but if people come to visit the baby for the first time? I don't and sometimes feel a little bad but in my opinion I don't think a newborn should ever be woken up.

Re: Just Curious????? (waking baby up)
Nope, if they catch him awake - lucky them. Otherwise, they can watch him sleep. NBs are pretty much the same sleeping and awake anyway

Re: Just Curious????? (waking baby up)
I will never do this no matter what!
* Do not feel bad about not walking the baby up. It is common knowledge you never wake a baby. Ever! People will just have to deal.

Re: Just Curious????? (waking baby up)
When DD was a newborn if someone was coming over, I would just let her sleep in her swing or bouncy seat so she could be in the room with us. Now that she's a little older and on a regular nap schedule, if someone is visiting during her naptime... too bad on them, she sleeps in her crib and nowhere else.

Re: Just Curious????? (waking baby up)
If I knew company was coming over for the first time we would keep them downstairs with us in the bassinet. Then when we would go to bed we would put them upstairs with us. It only goes on for a little while.
This way if they are in the living room with everyone, one they get used to sleeping when things are going on so you don't always have to be a mouse and the person visiting can see the baby.

Re: Just Curious????? (waking baby up)
Have not had company, but no, I would not wake DS for company. The way I look at it company should understand that they are visiting a newborn and the sleep a lot so they should not expect them to be awake.
