Just for fun - do you talk to your baby?!

I've been catching myself lately talking to the little one (little comments here and there), but mostly just thinking to it. DH thinks we should start playing classical music for it (he thinks it'll make the bean smarter).

Do any of you talk, read or sing to your baby? Just wondering!

I'll make little comments to it, but my DH says goodbye and kisses my stomach every day when he leaves for work. He also talks to it once and a while.

I talk to the baby all the time. My husband also kisses my stomach goodbye and hello, and talks to the baby. During my pregnancy we have also read to the baby, and played classical and other music for the baby. Actually our song to the baby is You are the Sunshine of my Life, by Stevie Wonder. I play it for the bay all the time. Chat Icon Chat Icon

We play music, read him or her stories, and talk to the baby all the time. Often, when my DH talks to or kisses my belly, the baby moves! It's very cool.

I do make comments to Snugglebug. DH is always rubbing and kissing the belly.

I have yet to start to play music, because I don't think they can hear yet.

DH plays all sorts of music for the baby and also talks to him/her.

He tells the baby that he is terrified for the arrival and hopes he'll be a good daddy....Chat Icon

I talk to the baby or sing songs. One day recently when the baby was kicking a lot and I started singing, he calmed down! I don't know if this was a coincidence or not, but it was nice.

DH has started talking to the baby a little, and he always says good night and I love you to both of us now. It's sweet!

I haven't started...but I want to very soon...I just feel silly now.

Question: when you play music to the baby do you put head sets to your stomach or just play music in the room you are in?

And when you read do you just sit in a room and read aloud?

Sorry if these are silly questions

I have been talking to the baby since I found out I was pregnant Chat Icon . But then again I also carry on full conversations with my dog. Dh talks to the baby. It used to be whenever the baby heard hid voice s/ge would stop moving. Finally dh can talk and feel the baby kick.

Yes, I beg the baby to stop giving me such horrible heartburn. Chat Icon DH talks to my belly and asks the baby to give me a good hard kick so he can feel it.

I do talk to the baby periodically about other things too.

Re: Just for fun - do you talk to your baby?!

My DH is a man of few words. I once told him that he could talk to the baby. He looked at my stomach and said, "Hi." THAT WAS IT--Hi????? Is he waiting for a response now?

On a sad note, sometimes when I take the medication for my heart problem, I say a little apology to the baby. The drug may have some risks but I had no choice about going on it while I was pregnant.

Re: Just for fun - do you talk to your baby?!

I have not been talking to or even really thinking to the baby, but I am pretty sure that will change when I start to feel the little one moving around.

My BIL said in a bratty tone "don't tell me you're one of those people who is going to play classical music for your stomach...you're not like that right?" I was actually planning on playing music for the baby and found that obnoxious, so I said "ALL SLAYER for mommy's little metalhead baby!"

I wonder if DH will ever talk to my belly. Hhhmmm.

All the time. My daughter loves to read to her and give her kisses. I read a lot to my daughter from 5 months on and started using the ear phones on the belly with classical music. I will do the same in another few weeks when their hearing developes.

They are not silly questions. I put headphones to my belly. If I read i just read aloud in the room. If my husband reads I have him read close to my tummy. Chat Icon Chat Icon
