Just got a message from Dr.'s office.
They told me I have to call tomorrow about my glucose test. The office policy is they only call if results are not ok, so I'm guessing I failed.
I don't know how I am going to sleep tonight I'm so upset, I can't stop crying. I don't know why they called my cell phone, they have my work number. Their office closed 10 minutes after the message was left and I didn't get the message until I left work where I get no signal. I can't call them until tomorrow at 10am.
I've really felt crappy over the past couple of weeks and I know it's only going to get worse, especially with the commute to NYC everyday in the hot summer.
I just don't think I can handle this if it gets any harder.

You might not have failed. And even if you did, you could still pass the 3-hr test.

I think the word "failed" is the wrong way to look at the glucose test. There's nothing you can do to pass the test - it's the way your body is metabolizing the sugar while you are pregnant. So if you do "fail", it is simply letting the doctors know that your body needs help and you have to be a little more careful. It's out of your control. And if this is the 1 hour test, you have even less to worry about - most people who fail the 1 hour, pass the 3 hour (myself included).

Re: Just got a message from Dr.'s office.
It was the one hour, so I guess I can relax a little about it. I know it's out of my control.
I just can't deal with the thought of this getting harder than it already is. I'm hating my commute and the long day. Work has been such a hassel lately. We still have so much to do to get ready for baby and so little free time to do it. I'm starting to feel more and more uncomfortable and all of a sudden my first trimester fatigue is back hardcore.
Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm due 2 weeks after you & all the 'to do' lists are getting a little overwhelming for me too. I also took my 1 hr test yesterday so I'm still waiting on that. Don't worry, it's just a stressful week for you.

you're feeling overwhelmed with everything - understandably so. I feel your pain with the commute too. it take alot out of you... try not to worry about the 1 hour result and ask the docs office to put a note in your file that you want messages left at BOTH numbers in the future...

Re: Just got a message from Dr.'s office.
I have also had MANY feelings of being overwhelmed in the last few weeks I just found out today that the lab "couldn't process" my glucose test because they put it in the wrong box or something so I have to go do it AGAIN tomorrow!! I am anxious about it also because I "failed" with my first pg...but as a pp said, it is what it is and it can be controlled so try not to stress so much

Re: Just got a message from Dr.'s office.
If it helps, my Dr.'s office has the same policy, so when they called me, I was really nervous. But as it turned out, I passed the glucose test, but my iron was low...so now I have to take an iron supplement as well as my pre-natals...
So it could be something simpler than "failing" the glucose test...try not to stress too much and call them in the morning...good luck!!

Exactly what I was going to post regarding iron. They called me for this reason after my glucose test...of course at first I was nervous hearing from them, but she said I passed my glucose test but my iron was low and I have to take a supplement. Could be that for you too!
