Just got a phone call from someone trying to get info....
on my checking account. They were called Distinct Advantage, and the guy kept telling me that he needed me to verify my checking account information, and I said, "You are NOT from my bank, do not call and ask me to verify ANYTHING because it's not going to happen." And it was a Florida phone number, and my bank is specifically in NY only, AND they called on my cell phone, which, hello, my bank info is under my home phone.
Should I call my bank and report it?

Absolutely - there might have been a security breach with their firm and someone got hold of a listing of their account holders. Report it now!! Do you still have their #??

Wow, I would report it, esp. since you have the phone number. That is so scary  I always feel so bad when I hear about those scams because I'm sure there are so many people that fall for it. Good for you for not giving any info.

Alright. I just got off the phone with my bank and they checked it to make sure this company hasn't taken any money out of my account for whatever reason and they verified for me that it wasn't a company I had done business with ever, so it's not like they needed any info from me. They also put an alert on my account for if they try to take any money. I mean, I didn't give them any info, but it never hurts to be safe.
