Just got back from my "transitioning" visit with daycare
My day care suggests we bring the baby in for an hour before starting. It's a nice way for her to meet the staff, the other babies, and get a "feel" for the room. (and to help the mommies as well.)
Well I ended up staying there with her for 2 hours playing with all the babies. I wonder if the staff was annoyed, because they politely asked me to leave the baby for an hour, that she should would be ok. It was naptime and they would put her down for a nap (they said she actually slept about 50 minutes.)
So I did. I went shopping and I cried through most of it. People must have thought I was nuts!
Well I got back and I heard her screaming from the down the hallway. All the babies were napping, and there was my little girl screaming her head off. One of the women had her. They changed her and were trying to console her, but she was hungry and I didn't leave a bottle
So she was fine the whole time I was there and seemed fine when I left. I'm sure she would have been fine if she had her bottle when she woke up.
This is just soooo hard

Re: Just got back from my "transitioning" visit with daycare
I'm so sorry. It is just so hard. My son won't be starting day care yet because my mom is going to try to watch him for awhile first. But I cried all day today because I realized that I won't see him at all 5 days per week (I commute to NYC so he'll be sleeping when I leave and ready for bed when I get home). Plus my bosses keep calling me to tell me how much work is waiting for me! I'm not sure I can do this!!

I don't have any advice since I was late for work this morning because I didn't want to leave my little bugger

Yes it sucks!! Especially when they are crying there! But just remember you are leaving her in capable hands. DD started daycare a month ago and its still hard but I love her daycare so it has gotten easier..
