Just got info from Disney....
that the "nightclubs" at pleasure island will be closing as of sept 28th. I love the adventurers club and am so sad to see it go. Hope they build something even better

I posted info about this a few weeks ago. All the nightclubs are closing and the area is being replaced with more restaurants and shops. They are making it more "family friendly"

The Irish restaurant Raglan Road is FANTASTIC if you are looking for something new in that area.
They have Irish beers on tap, great food and step dancing shows after 7. It is my new fav. Disney restaurant.

Honestly, when DH and I went down there in 2004, the only area we really liked was the comedy club...everything else was a little sketchy IMO.

When Pleasure Island first opened it was great. It had a gated entry like any of the parks and you could go in and out of all the clubs all night long. They had bands outside & fireworks every night. It was a fun night out for adults.
It was badly situated between Downtown Disney & the West End - it cut off two shopping areas so the gates came down so people can walk through. Once that happened, people started hanging around and the environment changed for the worse. I am curious to see what they put in its place. So far I heard a bowling alley, baloon ride, a Hanes design your own T-shirt type place and restaurants.
