Just got sick to my stomach---UPDATE BELOW
i'm breaking up baby porta mushrooms(fresh) to put in my egg. i see this black thing. i said what is it. good thing dh was sleeping or else i would've screamed. it was a big dead bug i was planning on resting today. now i have to bring the container back to the store. i bought it yesterday

mushrooms grow in the dirt, I am sure many of them have bugs. I would just wash them all well and not worry about it.
And I am a major bug phobe!!

Our strawberries had a lady bug in the package, but I just washed them really well.

I agree. If it was a roach packaged with chicken cutlets that would different. I understand how you feel though--It is gross to see a bug on something you are about to eat!
My friend once opened a package of turkey legs and when she flipped them over, they were covered with feathers!!!

i told dh about it when he woke up. he called the manager. the manager said to come and see him. he felt really bad about it. they checked 2 other packages and nothing. he told to take 2 packages of mushrooms. while i was in the produce section, he came to see me. it wasn't a bug, it was dirt. i felt so embarassed. it looked like a bug. the manager even thought it was a bug

Wow I'mseriously impressed that my fellow bug phobes would still use them - I wouldn't be able to enjoy them. Yes i know they grow in dirt and bugs are in dirt but I don't want to see them in kitchen version of mushrooms. 
I'm glad it wasn't a bug though LOL!!
