Just got the most ridiculous quote for windows!!!
We had Renewal by Andersen here last night to price 16 windows including 1 bay window.
They quoted us .....$26,000. Are you freaking kidding me!!! And that is for replacements, not new construction.
The salesman acted like he was doing us a favor by offering a promotion and deducting 2K. He tried so hard to get us to sign a contract on the spot. He said his offer to reduce the price was only good if we signed right away.
That is just plain crazy. In this economy, they have got to be kidding.

I had mine done in new construction, so I'm not sure if that makes much of a difference. My bay windows were just under $4k each, and the windows worked out to about $500 each.
Using my numbers, I would think your bill would be closer to $12k. Even if there was additional labor, it should only be another $1000 or so.
I got double-hung 400 series Andersen windows. Double-pane, argon filled, with the low-E coating, so I didn't skimp on the windows...

we just had our contractor here over the weekend to measure out 2 attic windows..pella, and they are close to 300 each window not including installation.
last year he installed 14 new pella windows, no way did it cost us that much

Wow, we got 4 basement windows, 11 double hung windows and a bow window for 6 grand. We used Unified and it was all low e glass windows.

I have a guy that installs windows, he will do Anderson and another type I cant remember. Let me know if you want his name so you can get another quote to compare.
That quote seems realy high but after we got a quote from Pella for a bay window and it was over $10K...for just ONE window, Im not surprised!  These window companies are freaking crazy!!

We just purchased three anderson casement windows 400 series and they were $2200. All of them were three panels, two were about 4 feet wide and the other was only abuot 2 1/2. That included all teh hardware, grids and extension jams. I think $26,000 is ridiculous. We had a friend of teh family come and install them and it cost us an additional $600 to install them.

We used Window Nation and had 15 windows replaced (triple pane) + a bay window and it cost us 8000.

When we were redoing our windows this summer we had renewal come in and give us a quote and they quoted us $16,000 it was ridiculous, we litearlly ended up spending $6k on what we had to do..they're out of their minds if you ask me....

That's why we went with Pella. The quote was a lot less and we are so happy with them. A guy directly from Pella even came after they were installed to do a walk through to make sure we were satisfied. We did put in a large order a whole 2 story colonial with 3 doors, 2 sliders with blinds and a front entry door and sides.
