Just had my first 'celebrity sighting'!!!
DH and I went to lunch w/ my parents at an italian restaurant on the water not too far from where we live.
Billy Joel was there!!!! I love his music!!!!  I was SO SO excited when we walked in but didn't say anything (just whispered to DH who spotted him also)- then when he walked by our table my husband said "Just wanted to let you know the concert at Shea was awesome" and he replied "Thanks, it was a lot of fun!" He seemed like a nice guy - not snotty that we takled to him or anything.
Then as he was heading back to his table 2 other ppl actually stopped him to shake his hand and try to hold a conversation with him- even though he had 3 ppl waiting at his table for him to eat. Then he left on his boat.... it was neat!

Very cool! It's nice to hear he was very nice. I've heard so many stories about how not nice he is.
My ex boyfriend's cousin used to work with him from time to time and said he was not nice at all.
My step-mother actually went to H.S with him and knew him rather well, she also said he wasn't nice. She had run into him years later when he was still married to Christie Brinkley. She went over to say hi and told him they went to school together and had some classes together, and he while he acknowledged he remembered her he was very pissy about it.

Ewww. I would've wanted to smack him if he acted like that to us- after all the $ we've spent going to his concerts over the years!  I could tell he was a little taken back by the woman holding out her hand AFTER he passed the table to shake his--- but he did go back. I was surprised. Then her husband started to strike up a conversation w/ him and he was polite enough to respond and make small talk for a minute- then he excused himself and went back to the table.
The waitress was young and came over after he left (she was our waitress as well) and my mom asked if he comes there often, because we go there fairly often and have never seen him before but I overheard him talking to the waitress about a specific dish the chef had made special for him last time... and she said he comes there all the time and this was her first time waiting on him and she was so nervous she was shaking- it was so cute.

Yeah my cousin (who actually looks like him) knew him back in the day and also had not very nice things to say about him.
I only have seen him outside his record label in NYC (where I used to work). I didn't realize it was him till 5 minutes after I passed him. He had two young models with him and he looked old next to them.

His house is a few houses from mine! I see him a lot (and all his motorcycles  he's got a TON!)
He is a super nice guy, very friendly

I think he is definitely nicer now than he used to be. We used to see him at Montauck Yacht club and when he was with CB he was a mean SOB.
