Just locked in oil contract
Do you think 2.49 capped is a decent price? THe price can go down but never passed 2.49. We did the budget so it is approx. $200 for 11mos. This includes the service contract. What do you think?

$200 for 11 months sounds very cheap! That's not per month, right? How much oil do you use?

Yes, that is $200 per month for 11mos. The 12th month we figure out who owes who. We are estimating using 900 gallons of oil. Does this sound way off. I hate locking into contracts because I always feel I am missing something better.

Re: Just locked in oil contract
if the price goes down and you get the benefit of the price decrease, then it was a smart thing to do!

Re: Just locked in oil contract
Good question. I think your lock in price is great. I'm curious of the monthly budget as well. Ours is $230 a month - is that too much? We have an original boiler...

Ours is really old too. Our montly budget was sort of up to us. He asked if we wanted to low ball, high ball or meet in the middle in regards to the montly payment. We went middle. What do you pay per gallon?

They based ours on the previous home owners and upped it a little just in case. We pay with Petro $2.69 tops and anything lower that is available.
