just making sure...
This wednesday I am moving into a beautiful complex. Currently I am in a mother daughter house in sayville. The roof has been leaking everytime it has rained bc the roof is "probably" about to fall in...LOL The landlord has failed to do anything about it and about 3 weeks ago again I certified him a letter stating this problem. DH says that if the roof falls apart today we are not responsible that it is the landlords house. Is he right? I cant wait to get out.

Without a dout the landlord is responsible for the roof unless you have some strange clause in your lease.

Then why when we move into our new complex do we have renters insurance for 300k before our personal stuff? I assumed that 300k goes to anything that goes wrong with the property.

Re: just making sure...
I think you are only insured for what's in it. Who ever owns the property is responsible for structure. I am not 100% on that, but I think that's how it goes...
