Just so tired...(vent)
I am 37w2d now. I am just so tired. I went back to work 2 weeks ago since I'm a teacher and it's just proving to be so exhausting. I work in Brooklyn but live in Levittown so I'm waking up at 5am, leaving the house usually by about 6:15 (running a little late today but that's okay) and usually not even leaving Brooklyn until 4:30-5pm or so because there is just SO much to do. I teach special ed in a collaborative setting which is like inclusion and my co-teacher this year is BRAND new, fresh out of college, and really doesn't have any idea what needs to be going on, so I'm staying late every night going over everything with her and planning. Wednesday night we're supposed to get together after work and we're planning on working until like 9pm to just go over a ton more stuff because she just keeps saying how overwhelmed she is and how she doesn't understand anything.
I've never had to put this much EXTRA time into teaching before. I get there early in the AM so I can leave at 3 o'clock but this year I'm having to stay late too. I get home usually around 7pm, eat dinner, then have to do a ton of work at home like lesson plans and make up materials, and if I'm lucky I'm getting to bed by 10:30 or so. It's just not enough. I'm too tired.
I almost wish the doc would put me on bedrest or something just so I can rest! I get so little maternity leave time I don't want to use the time now with 3 weeks left to go because I'll get practically nothing when the baby is born.
I'm sorry to complain. I'm just so tired and waking up today I just don't know how I'm going to make it through another day and it's only Tuesday.

OMG...your day sounds awful...no wonder you're so tired!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there any way that you can let your co-teacher do this stuff on her own...maybe sometime throughout the day you can go over what needs to be done with her? I don't know...probably not, right?
Anyway, please hang in there...just a few more weeks to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Just so tired...(vent)
Marissa --- feel free to send the labor vibes my way! Lol! I'm 37 weeks so technically by the book I am "full term" although the doc wants me to wait till 39 weeks if I can, but I say lets just do it already!
As far as having my co-teacher do the stuff on her own, I just feel like she doesn't know enough yet. She has never taught before and sometimes it seems like she doesn't have a clue. I know she'll get there, we all started out at one point. Unfortunately our literacy coach should be providing her with support and isn't at all right now. I want to make sure she's set up okay before I leave so that I don't come back to a disaster in november when my baby is only one month old. So tomorrow night we're meeting at the library after work and planning on staying until they close, and then I hope that's IT. i'm just so exhausted and can't keep doing this.
I tried to stop by the docs today after work because i need to pick up some papers for my maternity leave that i dropped off, but they were already closed, i forgot tonight was an early day. so i'm just going to wait until thursday for my weekly appointment to speak with him and see what he says. i feel like he's not always that understanding and personable so i feel nervous, but we'll see what happens.
