Re: Just want y'all to know....

Thanks guys!!!! Dawn, I'm on a 1200 calorie diet. It's what my Dr. put me on when I was diagnosed with diabetes. I steer clear of stuff like cream filled doughnuts, and anything that I don't know the calorie count. I just bought some Lean Cuisines/Heathy Choice frozen meals to give me some variety. I do believe it helps to eat my oatmeal when I get up; It seems to delay feeling hungry, as well as get my cholesterol down, hopefully!!! I also partake occasionally of a Burger King fish sandwich/lettuce/tomato, no tartar sauce. I also occasionally get a Starbucks egg/ham/cheese on an artisian roll and a pc. of reduced fat cinnamon swirl cake!! Chat Icon I know I don't stick to conventional wisdom in my food choices, which probably has delayed my getting over the plateau, but I'm doing what I can, without feeling deprived or depressed!!! And, sometimes at night, my worst time, I will go over my 1200 cal. but not over 1500. I know I can have 1500, and stay the same weight. Chat Icon Mary

That all sounds very sensible! My problem really is alcohol. I love my red wine---which isn't bad, per se, but I drink throughout the night and will often not have dinner and will snack instead. Honestly, my eating habits are poor and I workout so you would think that would make me want to eat better. Grrr! I perplex me!Chat Icon

Are there a lot of calories in red wine? I don't drink alcohol, normally. I had it at Donna/Josh's Wedding, and it was good!! Some kind of raspberry stuff. I'm not an exercise person, never have been, and that's a big part of my weight problem!!! But, if I am doing something I love to do, I won't stop to eat!!!! I know it's hard, hon, boy do I know it!!!! The hardest part is keeping the weight off, once I've lost it!!!! Chat Icon Mary

Re: Just want y'all to know....

Thanks, guys!!!!Chat Icon Colleen, I think I have found a balance!!! My toughest times are when I'm a nightowl and get hungry; Sometimes I'll just eat a bit extra, and begin anew the next day. Ellie, I started the day after my last diabetic appt., May 12th. It's been quite a few weeks, but I've learned at each 10 pounds, in the past, that I'm going to plateau, and wait. Success to all of you!!!! Chat Icon Mary
