What are you supposed to think with that ending?
Was he on the payroll or getting even?

ohhhh.. marky mark? i think he was just getting even- because Leo said to the other cop that he called him, and was on his way

That's what we were thinking but I wasn't sure. I definitely enjoyed it! So many good actors in it.

Marky Mark was getting even, IMO. We watched this last night and it was the best movie I have seen in a long time. I am so glad Scorsese finally won.

I kept telling DH that Marky Mark would come back. I didn't expect the ending, but I knew it wasn't over with the funeral. The real cliffhanger for me was who is the father of the baby?? Could be either of them......

I agree with the others - he was getting even.

Did anyone catch the X's throughout the movie? I didn't catch them the first time around...had to watch it a second time to see it. Anyway, throughout the movie there were Xs in the scene of each character that would get killed - not necessarily during the scene they were killed in, but randomly, when they appeared on screen. Some were subtle (like in the beginning when Leo's character is in jail) and some were super obvious (like the end, when Damon's character is walking to his apartment there are huge red X's in the hallway).
