just wondering
how many of you took clomid and caused multiples and how many of you have twins (or more) in the family?
DH and I both have twins in our families (several generations away for me) AND i am taking clomid so I'm just wondering
THanks!!

Mine are from IVF, but my dad is a twin. You have to have twins run in the woman's side of the family in order to pass it on.

Re: just wondering
I took clomid, but my mom's family is loaded with twins, so part of me believes it was not all clomid.

Re: just wondering
No meds, twins in my mom's and dad's family. They're far back in my mom's so not really sure if it was luck or truly that they're in the family.

I actually was preganant with twins from CLOMID, but one did not grow beyond 8 weeks.

Old wives tale, dad passed the gene to you. Father of the babies can't cause twins.

or does it?

Your father can pass the gene to you but your husband's father & mother cannot pass the gene to have twins....and that is because it is the woman who drops the 2 eggs. I think.

Your father can pass the gene to you but your husband's father & mother cannot pass the gene to have twins....and that is because it is the woman who drops the 2 eggs. I think. so that would make sense with the "skip a generation" theory because my husband could pass it on to our daughter (if we had one)

Re: just wondering
Just lucky. No twins on either side of our families, but I did learn a fact recently that on my Dad's side of the family his grandfather was one of 5 kids and 3 of them became grandparents of a set of twins.
So who knows.....mine are also identical though and they say they don't know why those happen...fraternal are the one's that run in families.
