Just wondering...what is so different now about the BPA craze than the info. we received a couple of years ago?
I remember being pregnant with DS and this BPA stuff was all over the news and it was a hot topic on the preggo board. I chose to go with the drop-in's b/c of it and than bought the Born Free sippy cups for him when DS was old enough.
I'm just wondernig what it is that is making people switch bottles and stuff now even though we got the same info. 2 years ago (and I think there were some reports on this way before that even)? I went to BRU and BBB and they were cleaned out of anything BPA free but 2 yrs. ago when I was picking out bottles, everyone thought the reports were BS.
Do you think it's b/c people are more scared now b/c Canada pulled anything with BPA off their shelves?

I didn't even realize it was in the news a couple years ago. I have only heard the recent stuff, so I decided to switch just in the past couple weeks.

I think there are just new studies confirming the older ones.

And the fact that Canada and Walmart banned (will be banning) BPA products to me just goes to show that something must be credible enough for them to pull BPA items off the shelves...KWIM. We have used BPA free from the beginning.

I think Walmart pulling them is what changed my mind. Everybody accuses walmart of not looking out for people and only caring about profits. I feel if they pull the bottles there might be a bigger problem then I thought.

I remember hearing about the BPA in plastics a few years ago. You were not supposed to heat things in the microwave in plastic containers, freeze water bottles or leave them in a hot car, etc.
When researching baby products it was an easy decision to just go with Born Free.
I think now people see that stores are pulling products off the shelves and are taking it a little bit more seriously.
