k9 advantix and me being pregnant--- OK?
is it ok to use K9 advantix or frontline flea prevention stuff on puppy while I am pregnant. I will have DH apply but do I need to be quarantined from pup?
any ideas or any experience?

As long as DH applies it, you are fine. I wouldn't touch the area until it's dried up, but I never quarantined myself from Misty when I was PG.

The other thing is, with all those topical flea products, if you read the specs, nursing and pregnant dogs can use them even still. So if they can use it on themselves while pg and nursing, you should be fine as long as you don't apply it and don't touch it until it is dry.

best of luck, but i wanted to tell you that stuff is not good for your doggy. im not sure sure if there is a pill form, that is ok, but anything you have to squeeze onto their necks can cause them nuerological problems. (not picking on you, i always warn ppl who use this )

if you have a cat, I woould NOT use K9 Advantix.....I was told it is deadly to cats.
I would have DH apply it. I didnt take any chance.

Honestly, I hate that stuff too and really didnt want to use it EVER... but... I had little flea bites on my ankles and then searched pup and found a flea... NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, i was so mad and sad for him. so i had to suck it up but i will try to only use it a couple times a year... he is a havanese/shih tzu and has a double coat so fleas sure hit the jackpot when they make a home on my love. Hopefully this will be the last time i use it this summer.....
any other suggestions and better flea control stuff? I bought an herbal flea collar but..... he needs to be one to use it and he's only 8 months.....
what do u use?

well fortunatly for me i am still living in the city so fleas and ticks are not a problem. had they be i would use a pill form.
you always *hear* of dogs and cats having problems form these things but i actually know a cat it harmed. my best firends cat has seizures now because of frontline!
i am SURE your doggy will be fine, just make sure you dont give him too much.
i think the reason Bernie got seizures is cuz she was licking it off the other cats' necks. so as long as you just have the doggy i thin kit should be fine. i always just tell ppl to be careful.
sorry to hear the poor thing had fleas, that stinks! good luck!

I think you should be fine as long as your DH puts it on.
We have a dog and a cat and we always make sure to put it on him at night, the cat never goes near him since the dog sleeps in his crate.
We dont put it on every month though, I never do in the winter and we haven't had any problems.
